One of the most interesting facets of this learning community involves the Vineyard, a 2.7 acre farm located in the heart of north-east Rochester.  Here both city youth and RIT students not only learn about health and nutrition, but are involved in the entire process of growing fresh fruits and vegetables.  From planting to harvest, the VISTA augments the learning community with developmental workshops and projects, focusing on youth leadership potential to help create the leaders of the future.  Nowhere else can a VISTA cultivate a tomato bed in the morning, and a mind in the afternoon.  A campus recreation pass and a Grant Writing Workshop ($850) are provided.
